I Race Like Sarah Jessica Parker's Face Part II

After losing a flip with AKo vs lucko's 9s (which is typical) I find myself slowly blinding/anteing off so on the Button I decide to push with Q-9o a mediocre holding but one I feel could hit if I get called by A-x. Well my plan went to Hades and then to Hell.

I race like Sarah Jessica Parker's face

I almost, ALMOST beat my previous 12 minute minute exit record.

Here's the scenerio: Betfair has been caught twice trying to steal the blinds from LP, wwonka rr-raised this person all-in both times to ellicit a fold.

With this raise I fairly certain he/she has a decent hand but I want this person to make a mistake with a smaller pair or A-x.

Simma down, simma down now!

Please no more blogger on blogger drama!

I understand Hoy's point he is making for all the crap he took for the chop, but cmon let dead horses stay buried.

The last thing the bbt4 needs is a reason for less people to play it.

Pleading didnt help

Obviously the RNG didnt hear me or is just cruel twisted bastard. In even quicker fashion this night, a turned flush was obv beaten by the nut.

PL raises from the CO which means he could have 169 different starting hand combos, so naturally i call with 97hh on the BB. Flop has 2 hearts and i check to induce the obligatory PL c-bet which I call. Turn is another heart which makes me giggle with glee at my fortune, maybe this night wont be so bad afterall?
I again check to induce a PL bet, and again he obliges. This time thinking I should XR here to prevent a 4th heart that would most likely make PL's hand, so I do and PL flat calls.
River is an offsuit 6, so I bet pot to look like I want to end the hand here. Not only do I not end the hand, but PL comes over the top for my last 185 chips.
Undaunted I still think I have the best hand.

That is until he turns up K-4hh for the nut, obv.

GG me... Saturday night home game this week and no poker league. I'll see most of you mooks on Sunday afternoon where I shall attempt to not be busted in 12 mins or less.

Dear RNG,

Please stop being a bastage.
I've tried cursing, and screaming, and waking up our loved one with poker rants directed at you...and its not pretty. The dog whisperer says when you do this to dogs it just encourages them to be louder. So I am going with this new tactic, sweetly and calmly suggesting to you to help me help you. I win, you get more rake when I donk off in the cash games, and thusly, you win. Win-Win for both of us.

My grievences include the razz tourney which I busted my hump to stay in the running only to be bounced in 2 consecutive hands uncermoniously.
We wont even go into the RC bustout because that was just downright dirty.

So all I ask for the last 2 days worth of bullhonky is to let me win a Mookie like your chosen one Hoyazo from last week. Its not so much to ask, is it? Just 1 little Mookie?

Hopefully we can get past our differences and see eye to eye on this one request and then afterword go out and get ice creams together and frolic in the field or something.

Your old friend,

Queens Up

GET OUT AND BBT!!!

I actually was going to lay down a post the middle of last week detailing my concerns regarding the dwindling fields in the BBT, but like slowplaying a monster on the flop I went from slowplay to no pay as today TJ, Astin, Heff, Jamy, and Hoy commented on the lack of a big field. I think I summed my thoughts up in a comment on TJ's board so I'm going to repost that.

When the Mookie is only drawing 60 people during the BBT there is a glaring problem.
The first week of the BBT4 was packed, and the second week was filled, albeit noticibly less so.

The one glaring difference between previous years and this year is that a lot of popular & succesful bloggers arent playing this time around for a variety of different reasons, time consumption being one of them. I guarantee you if my gf was not the understand and loving person who likes to see me play, I would not have the success I have had so far.

Some other problems I can see are:
The start times for East Coasters (specifically the Big Game, RC and Mook) mean that if I hit the final table I can guarantee I'm not logging off until 1-1:30am. And who can go to sleep after making a final table right away (win or lose)?
The Brit Blogger 4pm is a perfect start for me because I do squadoosh on non-nfl Sundays sans go to the casino, however, the bloggers with families can find this a little contentious.
Skillz, usually being a limit game, is an ok start time but again a trip to the final table usually results in a 12:30-1am finish for us East Coasters.

The other thing is Full Tilt is only promoting this series via Poker On The Rail which if I didn't know all you bloggers already, I probably wouldn't find on my own as its not listed under their promotions. The real lion's share of the promotion comes from blogger word of mouth or the blogs themselves.

The BBT has been great to me so this is far far far from a complaint, but I can guarantee you that I have during the last 2 months needed a few red bulls in the morning just to get going would not be a stretch.
So combine old standbys doing other ventures and no new donkey blood coming to play, you have the lower turn out.

Personally I want to make sure there is a BBT5 and beyond, so lets get the word out there!

Mid-Day Musings

Chitty performance at the skillz last night that Heffmike ended up taking down (congrats!)

I guess I got run over by a very good player, and tilting about it didn't help my cause. So sorry for saying f-that in chat.Usually I just vent in private and have my significant other yell at me, but I was a chippy yesterday and spewed forth a little vitriol.

My points lead is dwindling fast, so I need to step my game up a tad.

What it takes to make so many final tables

Dont be unlucky enough to run high pairs into Aces.
Dont push A-x into 10-10.

Now you know my secret. Use it wisely.

Been pretty disappointed in my play as of late although my Q-Q hand with Cmitch I thought I played with restraint as normally I would 3-bet on a non A or K flop. I didnt and 3-bet his river bet which looked like it was fairly weak. Althought I must raised at least one cmitch eyebrow with my river re-raise (according to PE I rarely do this, must work on that....).

Oh well. Missed the Brit due to some overly-talkative relatives, points have been stagnant and allowing the field to catch up which kinda irks me but blame is squarely on myself.

Early bedtime tonight due to early exit, take it easy everyone.

9th Final Table of the BBT a Charm?

Pushed J-J into A-A yesterday in the Brit Blogger to go out about 1/4th the way in. This comes after the mookie where I also crapped out fairly early.

To put it plainly, Riverchasers has been my biotch. I missed the first one in March but since then I have made the final table of it the rest of the month. I won a token on Thursday so I was all set to play......

Unfreakingbelivable. A TOC seat babee! Just so happened the RNG favored me tonight.

Gg to Wwonka who did not make it easy at all.

See you in the TOC you crazy kids you.

Whirlwind Month

Still getting over the shock that I actually took down the POTM award for March. That should give every player, good or bad, hope that you can do it too. GL to the April champ, whomever that may be. Thanks once again to TJ for the back to back Player of the Week awards.
Playing like ass lately, got so use to creating diamonds with my play that every dang tournament I play now I am way too tight. Must fix this immediately.

Non-poker topic. Watching Gods and Generals right now, saw it in the theatre and enjoyed it, biast though because Im huge historical buff. Anyway, so im wondering what kind of fear a soldier had to have as he stood there trying to reload his musket while the enemy was about to fire right at him. Brutal brutal warfare, those people had guts.

Might hit up Mohegan Sun tonight, dont know if ill play cash or sng...hope everyone has a good weekend.

Quite Simply, Thank You

First and foremost thanks to Al for putting the BBT together again, without whom none of this would be possible.

Secondly thanks to all those who have railed me at the final tables or offered kind words through IM, poker chat or via the comments on this blog. I appreciate every comment.

Thirdly to the guys who made me step up my game BoneDaddy, HeffMike and Will125. It was a great race right to the end.

So now April starts and it time to race again. GL to all.

Skillz

No final table tonight, but out in 11th which is good for some additional points.
Thats it really, nothing more to say. Early nights sleep tonight, but boy is it welcome.

Mook tommorrow!
