Poker Wall is looming if I haven't already flaceplanted on it

Mookie was a disaster, thought I'd get cute with a nut flush draw and ran it into a set of Kings. That severly crippled me and I stayed tight until Almost had to push with A-7o, call by smokkee with Q-10 netted him 2 Qs on the frop and IGH.

Thought some pre-planned 4 day weekend live casino tourneys might break me out of my stupid funk, but alas it was not to be.

70 runners for Foxwoods 11am $180 tourney. 10k starting stacks. My table started off short handed, only 5 people, because either people hadn't found their seats or they had stacks for late comers. I got squadoosh during this time and the two times I did raise I got called pre and postflop and ended up giving it up. I did get one walk, and when I flipped my cards saw that I had A-A, awesome! Next hand I played I had A-Ko. Raised in MP, BB reraises and I call. Flop is 3 clubs and I have the Ac. When he bets the flop I instantly put him on Kc-Kx or Qc-Qx. I called the flop bet, the turn was nothing and he made a bet for about half my stack. No way I can call here so I folded and he shows Kc-Kx.

A few orbits later I pick up Q-Q as our table finally gets full. I raise 3x BB and guy to my right (newcomer who recently lost a big portion of his stack)calls. Aon the flop, newcomer checks, I bet and he folds saying my Aces with a better kicker are good. And thats basically it, I played the last hand before the break (A-8o) raised 3x. Button and BB call. A on the flop and I push the remaining 3k of my stack in. Both fold and I go into break with 6500.

On the break I finally catch up with blogger Poker Blaargh who was up from NYC with some buddies to check Foxwoods out. We chat for a lil and the break came and went faster than I knew.

2nd hand back from break I pick up J-J, same guy to my right raieses 3x BB to 1200. I call planning to push any Non-ace flop. The problem was Mr rock over in the SB decided to reraise to 2500. OR folds and I'm left with 1200 +50 ante out of approx 6500 stack already in the pot. I could fold here but I'm going to have double sooner or later, why not now? I push all in for my last chips and although Rock askd for a count and took his time he finally said "whatever. call" and he shows me the A-K i was pretty sure he had when he didnt insta-call. As has been noted in my excellent Newberry award winning posts "I Race Like SJP's Face" series, I do so live as well now when an A hits the flop. I had asked the OR what he folded and he said K-J.

So I won't lie, my whole game bothered me because I was at a sorely weak table. Although they did move 2 ringers to my table who dicussed the various ways they have beat the shit out of "friends" they loaned money to and didnt pay them back in a timely fashion. The first guy stated it was over 5k, the second guy stated it was over $500. I think the most important lesson I learned out of both of these stories was this: Not that I shouldnt borrow money and pay it back, but when the lender comes looking for you after you ditch, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT smile and wave as they walk towards you, this only makes them madder.

I shot the shit with Blaargh for a bit, then ants in my pants took hold and I signed up for the 1pm $60 turbo.
Not much to report on here as I won with JJ early. Then bided my time until I lost enough chips I had to push in with A-10hh, guy insta-called with K-Jo and obv he flops 2 pair.

My mental state is shot to shit, and I go looking to see if the 4/8 HORSE game was a go, the lady told me 9 were on the list and I would make 10. So I quickly signed up and waited about 5 mins for them to call the table. I headed over to grab my #5 seat. Only about 4 people off the list showed up and they didnt even bother to start the game. So with that, I headed upstairs.

I was down $240 from the tourneys so what better way to get back then go play roulette right? I plopped down, bought $80 in dollar chips and played Alissa and her fams bdays along with mine. 3rd roll 22 came in (my bday!) and I was up a litte, and continued to play. I continued to play until I had the remaining money from what i bought in + won all on the board. I bet Alissa's bday hard (Aliss and her dad's bday are into the middle column on top of each other so i play the 3 spots in between the two squares as well for them) and wouldn't you know 8 came in. I won $136, played $16 more and walked away with a $40 profit.

At this point one would be content with make 40 out of $240 back but not your hero, that would be too smart, so I sat down at possibly THE worst Big Texas Hold'em game ever. Note: This is the casino table game version, not an actual Hold'em game.
The mix of people at this table was eclectic and some of them were idiots. I won my first hand, lost 2 then this happened....
Thuggy dude gets pocket 4s. He doesnt want to pay to play the hand (if you want to stay in after you are dealt you must wager 2x your ante amount) well he says he was guaranteed a win in the bonus for his pocket pair and he felt he would lose if he played the hand. The other people at the table try to convince this a-hole to play his damn hand as its like true holdem, you just have to beat the dealer. This leads to a 10 minute pause in the action while the pit bosses dicuss if he can win the bonus without playing the hand. Eventually they rule he cannot win the bonus without paying for the hand (sidenote: his bonus pays 3 to 1, he had $1 on the bonus and $5 already as his ante) so the flop comes down with two 10s and I bet the remaining bets that I can because I was sooooo sure I had 10-2 underneath. Well I didnt and the dealer gave me a funny look as I just shook my head, I had 6-2 not 10-2. BTW pocket 4s DID win. The only win I made at this table was scoring a free pair of tickets to see Gladys Knight. I thought this would be a nice present for Alissa's parents.

So after giving back my $40 profit at Big TH, I move to a $10 BJ table. I get stuck with another horrible table and walk away down $30 from my roulette start. The fam decided its time to go....to Mohegan! Her parents got a free pull for being such seasoned vets at the slots they got to do a pull for free moeny from $15 to $500. I decided to take my chance at the real Texas Hold'em.
Not much to note really at the table, I won a small pot with air, then get a fish to push on my A-K with Q-10 and he flops a 10. Lucky he ddnt have a lot of money in front of him. I took a decent pot off some wonky calling guy, and I thought I might paid off big when my 7s flopped a 7 with an A on board, but he finally smarted up and folded on the turn when he checked and I bet.
All in all, I ended up to my original starting point before i played roulette.

We ate dinner and I continued my penchant for table games, I played craps for 2 hours and was up $100. I gave $80 back and took a walk....to a $10 BJ table.
The table was nice, 3 players who all knew each other and they had a BJ strategy card at the table with them so I at least knew they were going to be playing optimally, but even with all that the dealer went on a heater and I lost $50. The people decided to leave and left me to play 1 on 1, and boy did I go on a heater. Playing optimal BJ I went from $50 down from my starting point to even for the day. That made me feel awesome.

Yeesterday made a visit down to Bethlehem, PA to visit my sis and mom. We stayed for a few hours then drove back. Even took a few minutes to drive by the new Sands Casino in Bethlehem, I'll do a post on how odd that is later.
Today I crapped out of the Brit when I pushed Ks into an A high flop when I knew clearly sophie2002 had an A-rag. Not only did he have A-rab but a sooted A rag with a nut flush draw on the flop.

Someday I may be a good poker player, nah wheres the fun in that....

More Famine For Me Whilst Heff Feasts

I had a post all typed up saying how it figures I missed the points once again, but then I go ahead and get my biggest pocket pair (J-J) of the night when LJ raises my BB with A-10. I somehow survive and get 4k chips, just enough to stick around one orbit to get in the points field.

I feel really good about how I didnt get any pps higher than J-J, 10-10, or 9-9 once a piece and NO A-K at all. A 10th place finish with that glutton of cards is a miracle. Big hand was when I flopped a pair of Js vs Heff and when I got Heff in he obv had K-K as a shorty.

Final hand was A-5cc in the BB and Cem calls with A-10o in MP and the flop is all diamonds of which he had the 10d, which he didnt need as a 10h came on the turn.

Mookie action tomorrow.

Need help transferring funds from PS to my FT account, please shoot me an email or yahoo message if you can help out! Thanks!!!

Crapped on at the RC

12 left and I finally got my highest pp of the night J-J. 6 handed its a monster, with my dwindling stack i have to make a move.

I get an opportunity when bdiddie raises from UTG, so i push. OBV he has K-K not even an effing coin flip and the board is all low.

2 from points, 3 from money. Oh and all the people I had to not have hit the points did so suck me sideways...

Gotta Go To Mo's

So last night I ended up at Mohegan Sun. Joe (Unimpressed) was planning on going all week and I convinced my significant other, I ended up there as well.

Got there round 7:30 and my buddy was down to $23 in front of him. Waited around for a seat to open at his table but it didnt look it was happening anytime soon so I sat at a table with a seat open.

Nothing if note, the first hand I played was A-Qo raised to 12, 2 callers raggy flop and I bet out got 2 folds.

Next hand i had 89hh, raised to 12. Again 2 callers. Flop was A-Q-x rainbow. Threw a 20 bet out, one caller. The caller was a super old guy, his wife was sitting behid him also. He had been playing pretty crappy and making horrible calls. His MO was raising with top pair so when he called I placed him on a Q-x holding.
Turn was a 9. I bet 40. Old guy thinks for a few seconds then calls again.
River was an A. Im fairly certain now if I bet and he has that Q he will most likely fold. So I bet out 50, he mumbles a couple times about I probably have him beat then decides to call. A-6ss he shows. His annoying skeleton of a wife has to ask him what happened and he commented that he thought was outkicked but he ended up winning.
Learned my lesson, however, the fools at my table did not. 2 more times he called an all-in with an A-rag for a single pair of aces and he took both pots down.

About this time I get a text message from Wwonka telling me he is working but Rakefeeder was down there. He shot me his phone number and I gave him a call. Kinda weird i didnt know his name and I had to ask "is this rakefeeder?" But sure enough he was there and as I signed up for a 120 SNG we met. I found out his name was Rob and introduced myself.
We chatted for a bit until my sng started and he ambled off to play a cash game.

The SNG was fast and furious and within 10 minutes 2 people were eliminated. I ended up playing exactly one hand, and it happened to be against the only other guy who hadn't played a hand at all up to that point either.
I got J-10o in the CO. 2 limps to me and i limp, bb checks.
Flop is 10d-9d-x
Checks to rock to my right who bets out 100. Im the only caller.
Turn is a 10
Rock bets 300, I re-raise to 900. He thinks about it, makes a disgusted face then calls.
River is an A.
Rock says "I guess im all-in". I shrugged and called. Rock flips up A-10. And im done.

I go looking for Joe at his table and hes doing better, asim relaying my bad beat I tel him about Rob being here, and wouldnt you know they were sitting right next to ech other. Got them all introduced and I noticed an empty seat so I sat down on the other side.
Pretty fun table, had an Aussie kid to my left, a young kid to his left, a guy who can appreciate good 90s bands, a russian dude, joe, rob, a nerdy guy, and some other dude.
About 3 hands in I pick up K-K, raise to 12, 3 callers.
Flop is 10 high. I bet 30, and get one caller. I check the caller's stack and thought he had about 70ish left.
Turn is a K. Going with my previous assessment I push all in for my last 200. To my glee he insta-called. I flipped up my Ks and he flipped up 10s for a lower set.
River was an 8 to fill my boat.
After the kid left, the Aussie guy tells me it was the kid's 21st bday and joking asks "so now how do you feel about that?"

A little later I raise in MP with A-6cc and get a few callers. Flop has 2 crubs and i continuation bet to hide my flush draw. Get one caller, the Russian guy.
Turn was a beautiful 10c. Russian guy looks like he wants to bet, and stares at me while he checks. I try to look like that club makes me cautious and I check behind.
River is another club. Yuck. I doubt im getting paid off now unless he has the K, but now he has to worry that I might Have Ac-K etc etc.
Again the guy looks like he wants to bet but he checks. I try to figure he might call here if he does indeed have a hand. I make a bet of 50. He grudgingly calls.
I show my flush, and he shows trip 10s. Kinda frustrating because I think if I bet the turn I get re-raised and then got paid off on the River.

So after those 2 hands im actually back up to even for the night. Rob changes seats to sit next to the drunk ENGAGED girl with her goods falling out, and i take his old seat next to Joe.
The rest of the night was basically me losing 50 bucks to Joe when my 10s can't beat his Qs.
Also Rob raised with the hammer and flop a deuce vs AK unimproved and got paid off on the river. Freaking hammer....
The drunk engaged girl was so aggressive i couldnt figure her bets out so I tried to stay out her way, but boy did like Rob's company. I'd have to defer to him on what the hell she was talking about most of the night, but she was droppin f-bombs about her fiancee for some reason or another.

Eventually Joe left at midnight and the guy who replaced him at the table proceeded to flop a set and then hit a royal flush. I followed Joe out the door about 30 minutes later.

Ended up 90 bucks down, but had a great time. Take it easy Rob, look me up when you get back and we'll do it again!

Road to the WSOP Part I

2nd place in the Skillz tournament. I fought my way from low man on the totem pole with 13 left to top 2.
Congrats to Heff on a well deserved win.

In other news I will be making my first visit ever out to Vegas this year to partake in event #51, a $1,500 NLHE event. Which I owe exclusive praise to online poker as this trip would not be possible without it.

Some things I'm hoping to do when I get there:
- Catch a Vegas show. Always wanted to see Richard Cheese perform live.
- Tour the Hoover Dam
- Do some 888 sports betting on KC winning the Superbowl this year. Remember, you heard it here first.

Days left till I leave: 44

Bloody Brit

If only that title meant I stabbed some a-hole Brit to death, but alas it does not. In what amounted to a light jog, I was out in 30 minutes.

Hands like me pushing 10s all in against As and flopping a 10. That was the highlight, dominated by lowlights. !

Sidenote: Is it just the participants in the BBT who don't believe raises anymore? Do I have a LAGGY image where I raise ATC from any position? Should ever raise be all-in? Make your opponents make mistakes by calling all-in with crap?

Between Chippy on my left and Joanne on my right, im stuck between a rock and a hard place. So when lightning pushes his 1k stack from the button I decide to flip for it with my pocket 9s. I survive the flop but running Aces from the good folks at FTP make sure my day ends in absolute horrible fashion.

Also noticed TJ with a top 3 chip stack, can I borrow a little luck big guy?

Only a few more weeks....

Mookie Poopie

After doubling my first hand with a good read, it was all downhill from there. Finished 32nd out of 81.

I really just cant put a finger on what i need to improve upon if I want to race for the overall leaderboard spot. TJ is doing a heck of a job holding on to it btw.
Id like to keep adding on to my bankroll so i can try satting into the ME possibly.

Past my plans for Vegas everything is a blur, i really want to finish this BBT strong and maybe do really well in the TOC.

R.I.P. Dom

Weird night = 3rd in the RC

I luckboxed my freaking way through this thing. Seriously.

Started with A-Qhh flop has an Ace and I call my through the river with trip Aces and beat Riggs 9s. Totally misplayed that hand.
Big hands of the night were me pushing all in with 7s on a 4-5-6 flop, 3 on the river cracks K-K.
Few hands later I have A-Kcc. Josie raises, I re-raise, she calls. Flop has 2 crubs, I bet, she calls. Turn is a 3rd Crub so I put her all in and she calls with QQ.
Later on I crack AA with A-K, K on flop and turn for the win.

With all that I couldnt beat ScottMc tonight for whatever reason. JJ vs 88, he turns an 8. And throw a KK vs AA at the final table and I gifted my chips away.

Congrats to qrs1 on the win. Its nice to see what a final table looks like again, 11th of the series, and I caught up a smidgeon to Shabazz and TJ. Cemented my 3rd overall for now.

JackAce is the nuts. TBA has been re-raising everyone who has raised from hijack to button when hes in a blind. Up to this point I have been passive from the blinds so when I raise from the button I hope to garner at least a little respect. Apparently A-Jo for all your chips is a good call.
